Matthias Kirchner joins the faculty of the State University of New York

Dr. Matthias Kirchner joins the faculty of the State University of New York at Binghamton, USA, in fall 2014/15. He took up a position as tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department. As a distinguished expert in multimedia security, he further strengthens the by far leading institution in this field of research. Matthias Kirchner is internationally recognized in particular for his work on detecting manipulations of digital photographs. The alumni of TU Dresden in Germany and Deutsche Telekom Stiftung, one of Germany’s largest non-profit foundations, has won many awards, most recently the first prize in the IEEE Image Forensics Challenge. Between 2011 and 2013, he already spent 18 months in the United States as Post-Doctoral Fellow at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in Berkeley, California. Until recently, he was a Research Assistant at the University of Münster’s IT Security Research Group. Congratulations to your new job, Matthias, and all the best for the future!
