Workshop “AI: Mitigating Bias and Disinformation” on 18.05.2022

On May 18, 2022, a Theme Development Workshop on "AI: Mitigating Bias and Disinformation" will take place. It will be organized by the ERCIS Competence Center Social Media Analytics and the CLAIRE research network, among others.

The aim of the event is to identify common goals between academia and industry as well as other relevant stakeholders, and define promising approaches for European research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence. Due to Covid-19, the workshop will be held online with a mixed programme of presentations given by prestigious scholars and experts, and in-depth discussions about specific sub-topics in smaller groups. The breakout sessions will cover topics such as detecting DeepFakes or abusive language, science communication with and on KI, and concepts of uninformation vs. disinformation.

In addition to the ERCIS Competence Center Social Media Analytics and the CLAIRE research network, the workshop is hosted by TAILOR, VISION Project, the Humane AI Network, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, the Information Technologies Institute, Umeå University, Zurich University of Applied Sciences, German Entrepreneurship and Pop Ai, and is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
