Corona-Virus - Semester Plans and Communication Channels

Current information about the postponed start of the semester

Dear students,

you have all been contacted by the rectorate of the university that the semester start has been postponed until April 20th. Please continue to pay close attention to the announcements made by the rectorate: https://www.uni-muenster.de/de/en/semester-information.shtml

The IS department is in close cooperation with the Dean’s office and the rectorate. Along with our colleagues we are working on contingency plans to ensure the continuance of your studies under these difficult circumstances. We are confident that together with your cooperation we will meet the challenges in terms of teaching as well as examination. We are trusting on your cooperation and acceptance that this semester will be anything but “business as usual”.

While these contingency plans for the upcoming semester are maturing, we would like establish effective communication channels with you:

1.       Please pay attention to your university email account. The rectorate sends around updates via this channel alongside the official website: https://www.uni-muenster.de/de/en/semester-information.shtml

2.       Make sure that you and your fellow IS-students are enrolled to the study coordinator Learnweb course: https://www.uni-muenster.de/LearnWeb/learnweb2/course/view.php?id=27915. For us it is the easiest way to keep all IS-students posted.

3.       In a few days, all courses, seminars and other modules offered by our department will have their Learnweb-courses online. Please enroll or register to those courses that you intend to take in the summer semester. Again, it allows us to quickly address particular groups of students.

In line with the rectorate’s strategy, we try to limit the need for physical contact between employee’s and students of the department. As a result, all rooms, normally available to students have been closed. You may contact the Chairs, your supervisors by email and phone. They are happy to provide help and support in a virtual setting.

Best regards and stay healthy!
