Working visit from Russia - Guests from the Voronezh State University

On the 23-25 of June the rector of the Voronezh State University (VSU) Dmitrii Endovitskii, prorektor Oleg Grishaev, dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics Alexander Shashkin and the head of the IT Business Laboratory Alexey Derbushev came for a working visit to the University of Münster. VSU is one of the leading public research universities in Russia, located in the city of Voronezh. VSU is the largest research university in the Central Black Earth Region of the Russian Federation. VSU offers a multitude of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in physics and mathematics, radiophysics, electronics, natural sciences, geosciences, humanities and social sciences, educational theory and pedagogy, medicine and pharmaceutics, economics and management.
During the visit the Letter of Intent was signed between the rector of the University of Münster Prof.Dr. Ursula Nelles and the rector of the VSU Dmitrii Endovitskii. Under the LoI both universities express their desire and intention to proceed with the development of joint educational and research activities, as well as elaboration of student and academic exchange programs.
VSU has already established a tight connection to the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) of the University of Münster. In the summer term 2013, the Department of Information Systems and Information Management has successfully conducted an international joint project seminar EDUPASS, in which the students from both University of Münster and the VSU worked on the analysis and adaption of the academic programs at Voronezh State University to the current industry needs and European standards as well as an investigation of promising new business areas for T-Systems CIS in Russia.
Having this successful cooperation experience the Department of Information Systems of the University of Münster and the faculty of Business Informatics, of the VSU signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which allows further development of exchange programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
