Luleå University of Technology becomes new ERCIS partner

Luleå University of Technology in Sweden has been welcomed as the 21st partner in the ERCIS network. During the ceremony in Luleå, the academic director of the network, Jörg Becker, and Christer Åhlund, Professor of Computer Science at Luleå University of Technology signed the membership certificate.

Research cooperations will especially take place with Enabling ICT, which is one of Luleå University of Technology’s areas of excellence in research and innovation. At Enabling ICT, research resources have been gathered in order to highlight research issues both in depth and from a multidisciplinary perspective.

"Several of our subjects, such as Computer and System Science, Social Informatics, e-Health and Industrial Marketing, as well as Centre for distance-spanning technology and Centre for Long-term Digital Preservation will fit topically very well to emerging co-operations", says Tero Päivärinta, Professor of Computer Science at Luleå University of Technology. During 2014, Enabling ICT will be a one-year preliminary member. If the co-operation goes well, Enabling ICT will become a full member after that. The network is looking forward to a fruitful cooperation!
