Project seminar kick-off at the Provinzial insurance

The ‘Eduplay Hub’ project seminar started at Provinzial-Versicherung at the beginning of October, in which nine Bachelor of Business Informatics students are participating this winter semester.

The students gain an insight into the (digital) work of a large insurance company and can work on a real business case on the topic of further and continuing education. They will take their first steps in IT project management, front-end and back-end development, stakeholder communication, and many other areas.

Liechtenstein Winter School on Business Process Management and Data Science 2019 was a great success

The Liechtenstein Winter School on Business Process Management and Data Science, which was held this year from February 20th - 22th at the University of Liechtenstein (https://www.uni.li/de), Liechtenstein, was a great success once again. By now in its 9th edition, the Winter School gave twelve undergraduate students from all over the world the chance to get a quite detailed impression of the topics Business Process Management (BPM) and Data Science.

Stefan Laube wins Science of Risk Prize

Detailed understanding of risk is essential to the insurance industry, and the Science of Risk Prize is designed to challenge researchers and Lloyd’s insurers to stretch their thinking. Dr Dougal Goodman, Chair of the Prize Committee and Chief Executive of The Foundation for Science and Technology said: “The prize process has sent a strong signal to the research community that Lloyd’s is interested in research and finding new ways to apply it to improving underwriting”.

Cybercrime and Cybersecurity - Joint project seminar with the University of Twente

In the context of the ERCIS network, the University of Münster and the University of Twente conduct a joint project seminar about  "Cybercrime and Cybersecurity". With 52 involved persons in total, 42 from Twente (38 students and 4 supervisors) and 10 from Münster (7 students and 3 supervisors) this project seminar is unlike a typical project seminar and a great possibility for the students to not only work on a specific problem but also in an international context.
