Liechtenstein Winter School on Business Process Management and Data Science 2019 was a great success

The Liechtenstein Winter School on Business Process Management and Data Science, which was held this year from February 20th - 22th at the University of Liechtenstein (https://www.uni.li/de), Liechtenstein, was a great success once again. By now in its 9th edition, the Winter School gave twelve undergraduate students from all over the world the chance to get a quite detailed impression of the topics Business Process Management (BPM) and Data Science. Alongside six German Bachelor participants from the University of Muenster, who took the Winter School as a specialization module part of their curriculae, two participants from Australia, one from Singapore, one from Belgium and two other Germans followed the three days-long course in the (rather unknown) heart of Europe in Liechtenstein.

During the days, there were lectures on BPM, Data Science, Workflow Management and Cyber Security which were rounded off with a company visit to Hilti (https://www.hilti.com/), a well-known producer of power tools from Liechtenstein, to see the theory come to practice in a global enterprise. Several social events like sledding in the mountains, cheese fondue, and a joint visit of a Start-up pitching event facilitated the socializing character of the Winter School.

All participants found the Winter School to be an interesting insight into the presented topics with a bit of more detail w.r.t. the curriculae from the different universities present. As a positive side effect, the cooperation between the University of Muenster, which was represented by the researchers and lecturers Dr. Nico Clever and Jan Betzing, and the University of Liechtenstein was once again strenghtened and common research projects and ideas were discussed.
