Our PIONEER Master Students won the Best Paper Student Award at WI22!

Congratulations to our PIONEER Master Students who won the Best Paper Student Award at WI22!

At this year’s WI Conference (WI 2022 - 17. Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik), held virtually from 21st – 23rd February 2022, PIONEER Master students Michaela VebrovaLusine Petrosyan, and Lucas Volkmer presented their paper on “Design Principles for Online Platforms Fostering Deliberative Political Discourse” and won the Best Paper Student Award! The WI conference offers a Student Track chaired by Jan vom Brocke and Thomas Grisold from Universität Liechtenstein, encouraging Information Systems students to present and publish their seminar or qualification theses and to get the full IS-conference experience.

As part of the Pioneer Erasmus Mundus Master Program, each semester the students work on research projects on topics around public sector innovation and e-governance. Michaela, Lusine, and Lucas worked at the intersection of Information Systems and Political Science and developed design principles for participatory platforms such as Debating Europe. The paper was supervised by Dr. Bettina Distel from our department.
