Brazil guest researcher at the WWU as part of a joint PROBRAL project

In August 2019, the chair for Information Systems and Supply Chain Management welcomed the guest researcher Bruno Duarte Azevedo, a Ph.D. student from the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Bruno Duarte Azevedo stays at the Department of Information Systems as part of the joint PROBRAL project between the University of Münster (WWU) and the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC). The project objective is to overcome the current research-practice gap in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) by developing a theoretical understanding and implementing guidance to achieve an integrated view for both academics and industry practitioners.

During his six month stay in Münster, Bruno Duarte Azevedo will research on sustainable S&OP. The main purpose of his studies is to realize research that goes beyond the economic lenses traditionally conducted in S&OP, with an emphasis on profit optimization, to analyze this practice of integrating SC into the environmental and social lenses, introducing the vision of sustainable planning.
