Accessible mobile and web applications: concerns regarding their development

Tuesday, 14. May 2019 - 12:00 to Friday, 29. March 2024 - 10:14, Leonardo-Campus 18

Speaker: Renata Pontin de Mattos Fortes

Abstract: In the context of approaches for mobile software development, we present our concerns on the level of accessibility and usability for their interface components. We understand that model-driven development (MDD) and cross-platform mobile development, together, may offer benefits to solve the gap and benefit the development of more accessible mobile applications. This presentation discusses the investigations and trends to include requirements for accessibility in interface components during the MDD process for mobile development.

Short Bio: Renata Pontin de Mattos Fortes is an Associate Professor at the computer science department at the University of São Paulo. She received her doctoral degree in Computational Physics at the University of São Paulo in 1996 followed by the habilitation at the computer science department in 2007. Her areas of research are accessibility and usability for web engineering, software engineering, and hypermedia applications with a focus on the synergy between software engineering, human-computer interaction and hypermedia for the understanding of new software development processes.
