Stanford University recently published its October 2023 updated list of the 2% most cited scientists in various disciplines, the World's Top 2% Scientists.

The ranking is based on bibliometric information from the Scopus database and includes more than 180 000 researchers from the more than 8 million scientists considered active worldwide, covering 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.

Jan vom Brocke has been included in the list since its inception in 2021. In the 2023 update, Jan vom Brocke is ranked #34 worldwide in the sub-area "Information Systems", placing him among the top 0.2% (of the world's 17`784) most cited Information Systems researchers in the world in the field.

The ranking places Jan vom Brocke #2 in Europe in Information Systems (based on recent year impact) following Alexander Benlian from TU Darmstadt (ranked #32 worldwide).
