Lena Clever’s PhD dissertation on "Tackling the Dark Side of Social Media by Automated Content Analysis" was supervised by Prof. Heike Trautmann. She investigated which actors and processes of the dark side of social media can be analysed and detected with automated methods and how the resilience of citizens i.e. exposed to fake news occurring in social media can be strengthened.

Sandra Lechtenberg earned her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Bernd Hellingrath on "Machine Learning supported Decision Making in Operational and Real-Time Road Freight Transport Planning". In order to investigate how machine learning can support road freight transport, she developed a process model to identify the decisions that are suitable for machine learning support.
