In the first week of September, Prof. Vérica Freitas from the Uberlândia Federal University (UFU) of Minas Gerais in Brasil visited the research group of Prof. Hellingrath (Chair for Information Systems and Supply Chain Management). Prof. Véricas Freitas is professor at the Operations and Systems Department of the School of Business and Management (FAGEN). She is a leader of research groups in Innovation, Operations and Supply Chain.

During the chair’s Ph.D. seminar, she gave an interesting presentation about the Uberlândia Federal University, as well as the research topics they are currently addressing. A following vivid discussion revealed several joint research areas, including but not limited to the topics Industry 4.0, Big Data and Performance Measurement. Connections and future works have been further elaborated during her stay in the days following at the Chair for Information Systems and Supply Chain Management.
