PhD Seminar Economics of Cybersecurity

The first PhD Seminar about the Economics of Cybersecurity, in corporation with the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), was a major success. Under the supervision of Prof. Michel van Eeten, eight PhD students of the Economics of Cybersecurity research group visited the WWU on 14.-15. April 2014. Together with the IT Security Research Group, under supervision of Prof. Rainer Böhme, the participants discussed current research topics and layed a good foundation for prospective collaboration.
In several sessions both teams presented relevant research topics and jointly discussed open research questions. Numerous starting points for collaborative projects were identified and if nothing else the joint evening with local specialties in Münster’s historic center helped to build a great foundation for further collaboration. With his interesting talk in the Lunchtime Seminar Security Incentives of Intermediaries: Preliminary Empirical Findings from Different Markets Prof. van Eeten gave the meeting a successful end.
We thank our guests from the TU Delft for the great atmosphere and their interesting ideas and we are looking forward to further collaboration.
