From Functional Languages to Software Engineering - Farewell Lecture
Speaker: Prof. Herbert Kuchen
Abstract: The talk will give an overview of the research of my research groups over the years. Starting from the design and implementation of programming languages topics such as the integration of programming paradigms, high-level parallel programming, model-driven software engineering, process-driven applications, debugging, and testing will be touched. In particular, the visualization of data flows and the automatic generation of test cases covering them will be considered.
Short Bio: Herbert Kuchen studied Computer Science from 1978 to 1984 at RWTH Aachen University. There, he also got his PhD in 1989 and his habilitation in 1995. After stops at universities in Madrid, Ulm, Gothenburg, Gießen, and Aachen, he came to the University of Münster in 1997, where he works as a professor for practical computer science at the ERCIS until today. His main research topics are programming languages, parallel programming, and software engineering; in particular model-driven software engineering and testing.
