Joint project: Analysis of Discourse in Social Media, Subproject: Data Tracking and Network Analysis
Within the bounds of this interdisciplinary collaborative project between Information Systems, Communcation Sciences and Computer Linguistics, we develop methods to minimize the existing limitations of the time and cost-intensive content analysis of Social Media Content.

In this project we employ an automated network and word analysis as well as a relational content analysis. By doing so, we aim to identify "emerging" topics on Twitter in various economic and politcal fields. Eventually, the aim is obtaining insights into participation, the avoidance of journalism, the degree fragmentation of opinion and opportunities to take influence on the course of topics (Issue Management).
