The Junior Professorship for Digital Transformation and Society headed by Prof. Dr. Benedikt Berger addresses two main areas in research and teaching. On the one hand, it addresses the use of digital products and services and the resulting implications for providers' business models and the impact on society. A special focus in this area lies on the media industry and the related topics of online commerce and virtual reality. On the other hand, the junior professorship deals with the use, development, and management of information technology systems based on artificial intelligence. Topics in this area include, for example, the use of automated asset management and the employment of voice interaction. Research at the junior professorship is mainly based on qualitative and quantitative empirical methods. The goal of the research is to gain new theoretical insights with relevant implications for business practice.
