This blog displays only selected content out of the Learnweb-course „Study Coordination Information Systems“. We strongly suggest all students to enroll for the aforementioned course on Learnweb in order to stay up-to-date regarding all study-related information issued by the Department of Information Systems.

Please enroll with your individual key to make sure that you get updates that are relevant to your progress in your studies. The key is created by prefixing "is" (without quotes) to the year in which you started the master's programme. 
Example: Your first semester is/was the winter term of 2017/18. Then your individual enrolment key is "is2017" (without quotes).

[Master] Tuesday, 22.01.2019 Presentation of project seminars and seminars offered in summer 2019

On Tuesday, 22.01.2019, we will present the seminars and project seminars on offer during the summer semester 2019. After the presentation  everyone interested in a module like that has to go through an application process which we use to allocate places for these specific modules.

The presentation introduces the topics as well as the organizational structure of each seminar and project seminar.

The schedule for Tuesday, 22.01.2019 is as follows:

  • Presentation of project seminars (Master), Leo 18, 16:00 s.t. until approx. 17:30 o'clock
  • Presentation of conventional seminars (Master), Leo 18, 17:30 s.t. until approx. 19:30 o'clock.
After the presentation the application phase for these modules begins.

[Bachelor] Kommenden Montag Vorstellung der Wahlpflichtmodule

Am kommenden Montag, 21.01.2019 werden die Wahlpflichtmodule (Projektseminare und Vertiefungsmodule) vorgestellt, die im Sommersemester 2019 angeboten werden. Wahlpflichtmodule sind laut Studienverlaufsplan erst im 6. Semester angesiedelt. Sie dürfen allerdings belegt werden, sobald alle Leistungen des ersten Studienjahres (1.+2. Semester) erbracht worden sind.

Zeitplan für Montag 21.01.2019:

  • Vorstellung der Projektseminare (Bachelor), Leo 1, 16:00 s.t. bis ca. 17:00 Uhr
  • Vorstellung der Vertiefungsmodule (Bachelor), Leo 1, ca. 17:00 s.t. bis 18:30 Uhr
Nach der Vorstellung startet die Bewerbungsphase für die Plätze in den Veranstaltungen.

[Bachelor] Bewerbungsdeadline für den Master-IS am 15.01.2019


Am 15. Januar schließt das Portal für die Bewerbungen um einen Platz in unserem Master-Programm. Alle die ihren Bachelor abgeschlossen haben oder kurz davor stehen, dies zu machen, können bis dahin noch ihre Unterlagen einreichen. Der Bewerbungsprozess inkl. erforderliche Unterlagen und Kriterien ist auf unserer Website ausführlich erläutert. Ansonsten stehe ich für Fragen gerne zur Verfügung.

[Bachelor] Early Warning: Vorstellung der Wahlpflichtmodule des SoSe 2019

Die Termine für die Vorstellungen der Wahlpflichtmodule des Sommersemesters 2019 sind festgelegt. Diese Veranstaltungen stehen allen WI-Studenten offen, die zum Sommersemester 2019 alle Leistungen aus dem ersten Studienjahr erbracht haben. Bewerbungsschluss für die Plätze wird voraussichtlich Sonntag, der 27.01.2019 sein.

[Master] Additional Elective "Selected Chapters in Information Systems" in Winter 2018/2019

Dear Master-students,

Prof. Klein has opened a course on the changing nature of work as an elective module "Selected Chapters in Information Systems". The module will be organized in a workshop format in January 2019 (14th-15th and 21st-22nd):

“Arbeitswelten der Zukunft – Future ways of working” is the theme of the current Wissenschaftsjahr (year of science) and Work 4.0 is one of the topics of the German government’s High-tech strategy 2025.

Therefore I am delighted that Prof. Watson Manheim, University of Illinois at Chicago, a renowned expert in the field, has agreed to offer a PhD/ Master of Sc. in IS workshop on THE CHANGING NATURE OF WORK IN DIGITAL ORGANIZATIONS.

Registration is open on LearnWeb where you will also find an extended syllabus with information on assignments and grading.

For pedagogical reasons, the maximum number of participants is 20.

Survey of Electives in Master-Studies, Summer-Term 2019

To plan elective courses in SummerTerm 2019, a preliminary survey is conducted.

If you are willing to  participate to a seminar or project seminar, please join this survey in the Learnweb:

 Of course, your choice is nonbinding, but, nevertheless, we ask for serious answers, as this avoids us from planning both too few and too many courses (a disadvantage for students and lecturers as well)

Note that the application phase for seminars/project seminars will take place during January 2019 and, of course, will be announced separately in this Blog.
