Special Lecture "Modern Game AI Algorithms" in Winter Term 2015/2016

Starting in Winter Term 2015/2016, a new module "Selected Chapters in Information Systems" will be offered. It serves as an alternative to the Modules "Selected Chapters in BA", "Selected Chapters in CS" . Lectures attached to this new module are  offered at irregular intervals depending on the availibility of lecturers and interesting topics..

In WT 20915/2016 the lecture "Modern Game AI Algorithms" will be offered by Dr Mike Preuß. If you are interested in visiting this lecture, sign in at

Teaser: Modern Game AI Algorithms

Computer games sales are not only commercially much more
important than music sales since years, games are also
much more ubiquitous than before. They are one of the.
driving forces behind the smartphone and table revolution,
and masses of players visit game conventions or e-sports
events.

This selected chapter is a practical, hands-on lecture
that looks at the algorithms behind modern games. We will
create artificial intelligence players that can play
every game they are provided with, deal with algorithmic
creation of game content, and with a lot of methods that
help to make non-player characters authentic and believable.
