Future of Online Participation in Smart Cities

Webinar #3: Participatory Smart Cities Modeling: Urban Simulations and Imaging for Social Participation
Tuesday, 19. November 2024 - 11:00 to 15:00

Cities worldwide are increasingly turning to advanced technologies—such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and augmented reality—to model and visualize urban environments with new levels of precision. But can these technologies also serve to foster deeper civic engagement and support democratic city-building? This webinar will address the opportunities, challenges, and risks associated with leveraging algorithmic simulations and urban imaging for participatory urban planning. We’ll discuss both the innovative possibilities of these tools and the critical skills and frameworks that governments need to implement them effectively and inclusively.

Time: 11am GMT-3 (Brasilia, Buenos Aires) / 3pm CET (Central European Time)
