Das Referenzmodell ErlPro verfolgt das Ziel ein möglichst allgemeingültiges und konfigurierbares Referenzmodell bereitzustellen. Dieses soll die logistischen Prozesse des Ersatzteilmanagements abbilden, und dabei den Einsatz von unterstützenden IT-Systemen identifizieren. Eine Erweiterungsmöglichkeit dieses Modells ist es, die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Informationssystemen im Modell abzubilden. Hierfür ist zunächst zu untersuchen, mit Hilfe welchem Modellierungsansatz dies erfolgen kann.
