Developing a Concept for usage of Blockchain Technology as common Source of Truth for a Distributed Workflow System I/II
Initial Situation: A few years ago, blockchain technology, was a highly hyped technology with crypto currency being its best-known application. But also beyond that the technology held some interesting potential.
Goal: The goal of this thesis is to analyze how and where this technology is being employed in the context of distributed systems for the purpose of having, possible cross-organizational, execution of activities.
The thesis is, in principle, a theoretical literature study, with main goal to answer the question of where it is employed in what manner. What are boundary conditions, drawbacks, and challenges for using blockchain technology for such a purpose? One example to be taken into consideration are the smart contracts of the Ethereum block-chain technology.
If this topic is taken as a master thesis, additionally a concept should be derived from the found results for adopting the found results for the subject-oriented language PASS.
Method: Result should be at least partially described using the using subject-oriented modeling in the language PASS (pre-knowledge is not necessary as it can easily be learned)
