Most universities have a limited number of places available for external students each year. For that reason, it’s a good idea to make parallel applications for a semester abroad at a number of universities and to do so at an early stage. As a rule, you will not have to pay tuition fees at the partner university during your semester abroad, but we do recommend that you apply for external funding in the form of a scholarship due to the additional costs you will incur (higher cost of living, transport, accommodation).
