"Empowerment and Control" in wissens-intensiven Prozessen am Beispiel des Anrechnungsprozesses einer deutschen Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät

Students planning to go abroad, or returning from a stay abroad face the task of getting their achievements recognized for their local studies at the Department of Information Systems (DIS). This is basically a very formalized task, that also holds some "non-linear" tasks, i.e., decisions that have to be made by the coordinator aside from any formal process. This can be related to the field of "knowledge-intensive processes". An interesting reading preparing for this might be "When Should a Process Be Art, Not Science?" by Hall, Johnson (2009).

In this thesis we expect the candidate to

  • Analyze the state-of-the-art of the credit recognition process at the DIS against the backdrop of creativity in processes
  • Design a to-be process for the credit recognition
  • Perform a thorough requirements engineering for a possible solution and discuss the decision
  • Prototypically implement a database covering the requirements
