Code generation systems (e.g. AI-based tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, or open-source solutions) are becoming increasingly important for the development, maintenance, and support of software. Particularly in the context of business-critical systems in highly regulated industries (e.g. financial services, healthcare, and energy), specific challenges arise: compliance requirements, security standards, traceability, and quality assurance are of central importance. The student thesis is intended to systematically identify and evaluate the current state of research and practice in this field.
