Mapping the Document Verification Landscape in Credit Loan Approvals — A Qualitative Interview Study

This thesis investigates how documents are currently verified during the credit loan approval process across financial institutions. Through a series of semi-structured interviews with stakeholders involved in different stages of the process — from loan officers and fraud specialists to compliance managers — the goal is to map out the existing landscape of verification practices, identify pain points, and uncover inconsistencies in how document authenticity is assessed. The findings will provide a structured overview of the current state of practice and serve as a foundation for developing improved, more standardized approaches to document verification.
