Synchronität bei digitaler Arbeit: Eine empirische Untersuchung in die Performance-Effekte von entgrenzter Arbeitszeit

The existing body of research is still inconclusive with regards to the question of whether temporal dispersion enhances or impairs performance (Anh et al. 2012). While some studies find a negative effect (Cummings et al. 2007; Espinosa et al. 2012; Sobri et al. 2017) others find that it positively influences team performance (Colazo et al. 2010; Ramasubbu et al. 2011), again others find no significant influence at all (Prasad et al. 2017). Thus, this thesis aims to fill this research gap by conducting a detailed analysis of temporal dispersion in co-located teams with flexible arrangements regarding the allocation of individual working hours. To achieve this, two main questions will be answered:
1. What degrees of temporal dispersion exist among members of software development project teams?
2. How does temporal dispersion influence employee performance?
