The research project "Establishing Modern Master-level Studies in Information Systems" (MASTIS) was recently completed. The project consisted of a large consortium of nine European universities, led by the University Lyon 2 (France), seven Ukrainian and two Montenegrin universities.

In October Dr. Ann-Kristin Cordes, Assistant Professor at the chair for Information Systems and Information Management, gave a talk on the subject “10 Years of Partnership: QUT and University of Muenster” on the 3rd Australian-German Science and Innovation Day as part of the 2018 Brisbane German Week at the Queensland University of Technology.
Machine learning enables syntheses to be planned with unprecedented efficiency
On February 5-6 2018, a Workshop on Simulation of Epidemic Diseases was organized by the Chair of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management in cooperation with the Institute of Molecular Virology of the University of Münster in order to introduce the newly released Platform for Simulation of Epidemics.
This platform was developed to enable investigation of the spreading behavior of different diseases. It combines code free modeling and visual analytics to increase usability and support data exploration in an intuitive way.
In the last days, a delegation from different information systems departments at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Brazil visited ERCIS to discuss future collaborations in education and research in the field of Information Systems.
In the summer term 2017, six students participated in a project seminar with ERCIS Advisory Board member CLAAS KGaA mbH. From March to September 2017, the students developed a concept for improving the customer service process in case of machinery breakdown. Specifically, they tried to answer the question, how the customer could be involved to speed up the process.
The Competence Center for Crisis Management (C³M) team is very happy to announce to be the host of the 4th Edition of the International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies for Disaster Management (ICT-DM)! The conference will be held in Münster, Germany from 11th of December to 13th of December 2017.
In November 2016 Prof. Jörg Becker again visited the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow and Nizhni Novgorod. The aim of his visit was to further strengthen the collaborations of the WWU Münster and the HSE. Both Universities are eager to continue the double degree in Information Systems and are interested in additional joint efforts.
A successful collaboration between members of the Group of Information Systems and Statistics from the University of Münster and colleagues from our newest ERCIS partner, the University of Leiden, recently has won the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN 2016).
