More Room to Study and Work for Students - Redesign of the IS Department Library

The IS Library re-opens as the new IS Learning World. With many new individual workplaces, group workplaces and an integrated seminar room, the redesigned library is now available for students to study and work in a nice atmosphere.

In order to increase the availability of individual and group workplaces for students, as part of the redesign of our IS Department Library, the rooms have been restructured and many outdated books were removed to provide additional room for current literature. Besides that, the library has been extended to include the former project seminar room (room 019) and the group study room (room 020) on the ground floor of the Leonardo Campus 3. The redesign and modifications are now completed. In the next few weeks, new tables will be delivered for the workrooms.

The department library can now be entered via the new entrance (room 002). In addition to the three individual workrooms (rooms 013, 014 and 015) with a quiet working atmosphere and several computer workplaces, there are now two group workrooms (019 and 020) available for working together in small groups. The posterior group workroom (room 020) can be used as seminar room and thus, might be booked by department employees for seminars and courses. During this time, students are not able to use this room. The current occupancy plan of the second group workspace (seminar room) can be found on the department's homepage.

Students can use the new workrooms in the lecture period every Monday to Friday between 9 am and 6 pm. For the early and regular exam periods, as well as the three weeks before, extended opening hours apply. During this period, the library will be available for examination preparation until 8 pm. The current opening times are available on our library homepage. During opening hours, the individual and group work rooms can only be accessed via the entrance (room 002). Outside the opening hours, students continue to have access to the two group work rooms.

The IS-Department and the Library Team hope you are enjoying the redesigned library and additional workspaces. We look forward to your visit and hope that the new offer for working and learning will be actively used by you. For further questions, suggestions and wishes, the library team will be happy to help you.
