The Chair for Information Systems and Supply Chain Management is directed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Hellingrath. The academic work focuses on the application and development of information systems in the field of logistics and supply chain management.
The contents of teaching include basics of logistics and supply chain management as well as methods and information systems for designing, planning and control supply chain networks. Advanced courses are offered in collaboration with various companies, enabling students to gain insight into the practical applicability of theoretical principles.
Applied research fosters the development of concepts and of information systems needed for service-oriented supply chain management. Companies are thereby enabled to adapt to changing market conditions by generating and integrating of new services or products, and the dissolution and linking of new network relations.
