Beschreibung
The lecture “Information Modeling” provides the theoretical foundation of the core method of the Information Systems discipline. Central aspects of this domain such as method engineering, language engineering and meta modeling are part of the curriculum. On this basis, the lecture addresses furthermore sophisticated concepts like model configuration, syntactic and semantic model analysis and model integration.
Tutorials will be held during lecture times.

Cancelled: Exercise tomorrow
Dear participants of information modeling,as I was not able to provide you with a detailed description for your exercise tomorrow in time, I would like to cancel it. I am really sorry for that. If you, however, should have developed some solutions based on what I explained to you during the lecture, please feel free to email it to me. You’ll definitely get response on it.
Another remark for the six of you attending to the exercise on Wednesday: Please feel free to catch your six-pack this Friday between 2pm and 3pm from Philipp Bergeners office (room 010). If you’re not there by 4pm, the six-pack will go back into ownership of Philipp and Michael ;-)

SOM IAS modeling
In the download section “Goodies” you will find an extended sample solution for the IAS part of the SOM exercise including the decomposition steps and the applied decomposition rules. Please mind: in the exam you will not be asked to provide applied decomposition rules! The purpose of the extended example is to show you that it is possible to derive the final sample solution by applying the decomposition rules. However, it is not feasible, from a modeling pragmatic point of view, to create stepwise model refinements only (!) by guidance of the decomposition rules. Given a modeling scenario, you should rather let yourself be guided by the hierarchical and non-hierarchical coordination patterns demonstrated in the lecture and exercise.Basic Concepts of Set Theory, Functions and Relations
